Jeweller hacked to death, mob kills dacoit

Bolpur A jeweller was hacked to death by a group of armed dacoits one of whom was caught and killed by irate villagers at Bolpur on late Thursday night, police said. Manu Rana (28) died after being attacked with sharp weapons in his shop at Bandhgora. A crowd gathered there and caught one of the fleeing dacoits. His father Sumangal Rana, a retired professor of Visva Bharati, was also attacked and injured. He was admitted at Bolpur Sub-divisional hospital.
