Panchkula The Panchkula police on Sunday night arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the Sector-20 robbery case, in which two employees of an Amritsar-based jeweller were looted of gold ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh more than a month ago. The accused, identified as Kabir and Jackson, both in their early 20s, were arrested near Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 3, Panchkula. On Monday, the two were produced in the district court and remanded in police custody for seven days.

Kabir is a resident of Sector 33 and owns agricultural land in Dera Bassi while Jackson, who is from Kolkata and lived in Mohali, was employed with a call centre in Chandigarh.

“The main accused, Twinkle, is still at large. Kabir and Jackson were friends of Twinkle and connived with him to commit the crime,” Panchkula Superintendent of Police Amitabh Dhillon said.

On January 22, the three accused had drugged and robbed Omkar Chand Rathaur (25) and Om Prakash Pandey (30), employees of Amritsar-based P S Seth and Sons Jewellers — in AWHO Society of Sector 20.
