A resident of Chandigarh, Pramod Bansal, allegedly barged into the victim’s cabin at a private hospital here and stabbed her with a dagger two days ago, said Investigating Officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar.
The dentist told the police that around 2.15 pm on Wednesday, Pramod forced his way into her room and attacked her without any provocation and fled.
She sustained injuries on the fingers while offering resistance, said the police, adding that the dentist and the accused studied in the same college.
“He had professed his love for me, but when I did not reciprocate, he started harassing me,” said the doctor.
The accused has been arrested on charges of voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, added the IO.
