Kolkata Sajjan Jindal, Chief Managing Director of JSW and Biswadeep Gupta, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, JSW (Bengal) met Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the Writers’ Buildings today and discussed the proposed Rs 10,000-crore steel plant at Salboni. Work on the project was stalled due to the economic slowdown and a slump in demand for steel in the international market. Threat from Maoists was also one of the reasons for the disruption. Jindal said that things are improving now and the company was looking at a timeframe of six months by which work on the steel project should start in full swing.
