Pune JK Lakshmi Cement announced today that it is expanding its base to Pune and is planning to set up a Ready-Mix-Concrete (RMC) plant here.

For over a decade it has presence in Mumbai and operates in Northern and Western India particularly in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

“Setting up a base at Pune will help us in meeting the growing demand for our products in Western Maharashtra. We could not expand beyond Mumbai earlier. But now we are well poised to widen our footprint in Maharashtra”, said Shailendra Chouksey, director, JK Lakshmi Cement, a Rs 1500 crore company. According to the company with the completion of the Gujarat project at Kalol the cement capacity will increase from 3.65 Million Tonnes to about 5 Million Tonnes.

“Pune is well-connected by rail from our works and is one of the emerging and promising metropolis in the country. Pune will provide us the desired spring board to consolidate our market in the West”, added Chouksey. JK Lakshmi Cement recently enhanced capacity at its plant at Sirohi in Rajasthan.

Already 11 RMC plants have been set up across the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab U.P. and Haryana.
