Pune, March 5
The Southern Command will conduct a joint 10-day Army-Air Force exercise christened Dakshin-Shakti in the deserts of Rajasthan, to validate the air land doctrine in a mechanised and network-centric environment. The army would test and integrate its new weapon systems as reconnaissance and surveillance systems. The focus will remain on offensive along multiple thrusts to strike deep into enemy territory. Swift mechanised maneuvers with airborne and heliborne troops will be practised.
