Pune Kailash Pujari bagged a gold medal in the 62 kg men's category of the 61st men's and 24th women's late Dadasaheb Dhore senior National Weightlifting Championship organised by the Maharashtra Weightlifting Association, held at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City, Balewadi, on Thursday.

Pujari of SSCB lifted a total of 259 kg on his way to winning a gold medal. He lifted 112 kg in the snatch event and 147 kg in the clean and jerk event. Rustam Sarang of Chhatisgarh came in second lifting a total of 258 kg. He lifted 116 kg in the snatch event and 142 kg in the clean and jerk event. M Muthukumar of Tamil Nadu won the bronze medal after lifting 114 kg in the snatch event and 141 kg in the clean and jerk event. He lifted a total of 255 kg.

1. H Poirenganbi (Jharkand) – 86 + 110 = 196

2. Sunita Rani (Punjab) – 81 + 105 = 186

3. Seeta Jaina (Orissa) – 75 + 105 = 180

69 kg:

1) R Kavitha (TN) – 95 + 117 = 212

2) Nansita (HAryana) – 88+114 = 202

3) A Janeshwari Devi – 90 + 108 = 198

75 kgs:

1) K Tulsi (FCI) – 80 + 105 = 185

2) Anjali Nabiyal (Uttarakhand) – 70 + 95 = 165
