Under the scheme, KDMC would receive 35 per cent funds for its projects from central government, 15 per cent from the state government and would have to fund the rest from its kitty.
According to civic city engineer P K Ugale, four of the 12 projects have received approval. Of the four approved projects, two are water supply projects, one underground drainage system and the other is storm water drain system. Ugale said that water projects, for which land has been finalized, had already reached the stage of tendering, while the eight other development projects were pending with the state and central government.
The other project proposals include development of roads, ring router bus transport project, solid waste management, sports facilities, playgrounds and street lights. Besides upgrading the existing ones, the e-governance facility is also on the cards.
For the four approved projects, KDMC requires Rs 298.44 lakh. Municipal Commissioner Govind Rathod said that is pursuing the MMRDA to obtain a loan of Rs 298.44 to fund the same.
