Bhuj, March 2 The Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industries has withdrawn its strike scheduled from Monday at the Kandla port.

The body said it came to the decision following assurances from the port management of settlement of all 12 issues relating to the port and land, raised by it.

“We had the third and last crucial meeting with the port’s new chairman, Praveen Agarwal on Sunday evening, where he assured us of timely solution to all our problems, in writing. After deliberating at length, we decided not to boycott work at the port from tomorrow. We shall, however, call a strike again if no solution is found within three months,” said Hiralal Parekh, former president and convenor of the committee.
