East meets West in Sushmita Sen's this week's release, Karma aur Holi

It's alright to look surprised for very few had an idea that such a film with Sush in it existed. But it does, and it's releasing this Friday at PVR, Chandigarh. Written and Directed by New York based Manish Gupta, "Karma Aur Holi" has an eclectic mix of star cast from the east and west. Interestingly, it's been co-produced by Drena DeNiro, daughter of Robert DeNiro, and stars Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda, Rati Agnihotri, Suresh Oberoi, Deepal Shaw, Naomi Campbell, underground rapper Sticky Fingaz and Vincent Pannetta to name a few. A Saregama India Ldt fil, it roped in Lysa Cooper, one of the biggest stylists in the world, to make Sushmita look even more sensational. Says Sharang Sharma, Head of Acquisition Distribution and New Film Projects, "We are confident that the movie will be liked by classes and masses as well, and we intend to go in for platform release strategy and will increase the print count as the movie builds up." About the film, it deals with relationships of many dimensions, their conflicts and resolutions on the day of Holi signifying a new beginning. The story revolves around the identity of Indian families living in the US, how they adapt to a new culture and are ready to give up their inherent cultural inhibitions. Watch it.
