Ketkar was speaking after releasing the book 'Batmidari' written by chief reporter of Loksatta's Pune edition Sunil Mali. Ketkar said print media would last and it had no threat from electronic media as long as it recognises its strength.
"In today's world, the definition of news is constantly changing. It cannot be fully factual as the reporter tends to bring his/her views in the news story," he said. "With the advent of electronic media, the print media also has to go through changes. It has to focus on how to report what is happening and its change process. This will be the new dimension of today's journalism," he said.
Ketkar said there were magazines and newspapers in the US doing process reporting. "These papers report what the common man thinks about various issues. They try to find out what is going on in the society by talking to common people. We should learn these things," he said.
Veteran journalist Arun Sadhu, assistant editor of Loksatta Arvind Gokhale, resident editor Mukund Sangoram, Sadanand Borase of Rajhans publication were also present.
