Khalsa College, Ludhiana record easy win

Chandigarh In one-sided affairs, the winning teams won all their respectively games thus routing their oppositions in the Panjab University Inter-College Badminton (Men) tournament being played in the Panjab University Gymnasium Hall on Friday. GGN Khalsa College, Ludhiana, began their campaign in style by recording an easy 3-0 win over MRS College, Malour in a one-sided affair. In another encounter, DAV College, Malout, lost just one game in their 3-1 win over Government College, Hosiarput. Similarly, MGKM SS College of Physical Education, Jhakroudi, thrashed MR College, Fazilka, 3-0 in an easy match. Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, outplayed Government College, Muktsar, 3-0 in a one-sided encounter, while JC DAV College, Dasuya, also recorded a facile 3-0 win over Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana. In another one-sided match, Gobindgarh Public College, Alour, routed Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Chandigarh, 3-0, while DAV College, Malour, registered a 3-0 win over AD College, Dharamkot.

Cricket trials tomorrow
Trials will be held on November 8 at 3 pm at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40, Chandigarh, for the selection of Haryana team for the 1st Rajiv Gandhi Cup All India Under-15 National League Cricket tournament to be held at Jaipur, Rajasthan, from November 24 to 27. Players born on or after January 1, 1994, are eligible to participate in the tournament. Interested players can contact Davinder Singh on 9814100386.

Chaudhry as Photo Finish Judge
Ravinder Chaudhry, working as Senior Lecturer, Physical Education Department, D.A.V. College, Sector-10, will act as International Photo Finish Judge for the 18th Asian Athletics Championships to be held at Guangzhou, China from November 10-14. Ravinder has officiated at many international athletics championships earlier also.

Chess championship from today
The Chandigarh Chess Association will organise the Chandigarh Under-13 Chess Championship on November 7 and November 8 at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School , Sector 44.

Soccer tourney from November 9
As many as seven teams will battle it out for the Chandigarh Senior Women Football Championship for Deepak Kampania Memorial Trophy to be held from November 9 to 12 at Sector 17 Football Stadium.St Stephen's School, Sector 45, Panjab University Campus and Carmel Convent School, Sector 9 have been placed in Group A. Meanwhile, DAV Club-8, Government Girls College for Girls-42, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School-26 and Saupin's School, Sector 32 have been placed in Group B. In the first phase, the group matches will be played on league basis. The toppers of each group will qualify for the final to be played on November 12 at 10 am. DAV Club-8 and Government Girls College for Girls-42 will meet each other in the opening match at 9.30 am. In the second match of the day in Group B, Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School-26 will face Saupin's School, Sector 32 at 10.30 am. Panjab University Campus have been drawn to meet Carmel Convent School, Sector 9 in Group A encounter at 11.30 am on the inaugural day.
