The police arrested two persons in this connection, including the boy's uncle and an accomplice, who had demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.
According to the police, Yash Patel (7), a resident of Morai village, was going for his tuition class near his house with his cousin Bhakti (8) in the afternoon. When they reached near fish market in Aurwad area, a youth riding a motorcycle approached them and gave a chocolate to Yash. He then picked the boy on his motorcycle and sped away.
Bhakti immediately rushed to Yash's house and informed his father Kalpesh Patel about the incident, who later lodged a complaint with the Pardi police station.
While the police launched a search operation at hotels and guesthouses in Pardi, Kalpesh received a message on his mobile phone, wherein the abductor demanded a ransom worth Rs 50 lakh to release the boy.
The police started investigation into the mobile number from which the message was sent and found that one of the abductors was Kalpesh's younger brother Sanjay Patel. Sanjay was arrested the same night.
During interrogation, he disclosed that Yash is locked in a room in Sai Nivas Apartment at Mashalchiwad in Daman. The Dungri police accompanied by Sanjay left for Daman immediately and rescued the boy from the flat. They arrested Sanjay's accomplice Tanmay Mukherjee, who was in the room with the boy.

He had asked for money from Kalpesh, but the latter had refused.
Later, Sanjay hatched a kidnapping plan with the help of his friend Mukherjee. Sanjay had taken the flat in Sai Nivas in Daman for one month on rent to keep the abducted boy.”
