KMDA signs three PPPs, Rs 850 cr investment expected

Kolkata, March 6 The physical infrastructure in Salt Lake, the IT hub of Kolkata, is all set to receive a shot in the arm with the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) signing three Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreements for developing a parking lot, commercial space and an IT park at a total investment of Rs 850 crore.

The first project would be a multi-level car park near the City Centre shopping mall which would be the first-of-its-kind in the city. Simplex Projects Ltd is developing the five-level car parking that would have a shopping mall at the ground floor.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Simplex and KMDA, the former would pay Rs 25 crore for the land to the latter, and Simplex would develop the project on a Build-Own-Operate (BOP) model.
