Kodnani could not be contacted despite several attempts, but sources close to her said she would attend office in the Sachivalaya from Monday.
“As Friday is a lean day in the Sachivalaya, Kodnani avoided going to Gandhinagar,” said sources in the BJP.
Kodnani as well as VHP’s Jaydeep Patel were declared absconder on February 2 by the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the chargesheets filed in the Naroda Gam and Naroda Patiya massacre cases.
The SIT had declared them absconders after they failed to appear before it on January 29 and 31.
Soon after this, both of them approached the local Sessions Court and were granted anticipatory bail on the condition that they will neither leave the country nor enter the Naroda area till further court orders.
Kodnani, a three-time MLA from Naroda, runs a maternity hospital, while Patel has a pathology laboratory in the Naroda area. An agency report, meanwhile, said she was at her official residence in Gandhinagar on Friday.
