Sanjay Kolte, a technically sound fighter, once again stamped his class when he stopped Madanlal of IBF Youth in the second round.

Kolte who has moved light fly to fly weight class unleashed a barrage of shots forcing the referee to stop the contest. Rakesh Kalaskar (IBF) looked comfortable as he faced Sanjay Kumar (NZG).

The wily southpaw kept his opponent at an arm’s distance to prevent him from scoring throughout the bout. Rakesh used his left to good effect to land blows which counted in the ultimate analysis.

Vinit Kotian was the lone boxer from Maharashtra to make it to the title round. The Western India winner in the light welter weight class was pleasantly surprised to find his opponent Manojkumar of IBF Youth fail on weight grounds.

Also making in to the finals easily were P. Narjit (IBF), KTT Singh (SSCB) and K.Roshan Singh (SSCB).

The last named ended the challenge of fancied Chotelal Yadav(IBF) by a 10-7 margin. Narjit had the measure of rival Amit(CZY) which was reflected by the 5-0 scoreline in the end.

The penultimate day’s proceedings got delay as the organizers had to cope with an unforeseen problem related to the ring.

One of the cables meant for securing the ring snapped which forced the officials to do a time consuming repair job.

Bantam (54 kgs): Chandan (WZG) bt ZN Tluanga (NEG); P Narjeet (IBF) bt Amit (CZY) 5-0.

Feather (57Kgs): K Roshan Singh (SSCB) bt Chotelala Yadav (IBF) 10-7; Ph Jeevan Singh (NEZY) bt Deepak (NZG) 13-3

Light (60 Kgs): Sandeep (IBF Youth) bt Anil (WZG) 9-0; Rakesh Kalaskar (IBF) bt Sanjay Kumar (NZG) 6-0.
