Ludhiana Accident took place on Feb 4 : Actor booked for injuring boy whose leg had to be amputated

The Model Town police have booked city-based Bollywood actor Kumar Sahil in a case of rash and negligent driving in which nine-year-old Rahul was injured and his leg had to be amputated. Meanwhile, Sahil's father, Gulshan Kumar, a builder, held a media conference this evening to clear his son's position.

On Saturday, the police had booked the Bollywood actor whose debut movie 'Kaash Mere Hote' was released last month, for injuring the son of a rickshawpuller on February 4 in Model Town Extension.

The accident had occurred near the office of the area councillor Manwinder Pal Singh Makkar. Rahul was rushed to a hospital by his father Suresh.

Later speaking to the media, Suresh had alleged that Kumar Sahil had visited the hospital and after promising to pay for the treatment, he(Sahil) got his signatures on compromise papers but retracted his statement.

Meanwhile, Sahil's father Gulshan Kumar accused councillor Makkar for forging false evidence against Sahil. He said following Makkar's forged evidence, a case was registered against the actor. However, Kumar could not explain what was prompting Makkar.

Kumar claimed that his son had taken the injured boy to the Swami Vivekanand Hospital and paid for all his treatment. The father of the accident victim had agreed not to go to any police action, he said. Kumar said that besides paying the medical expenses, they had also agreed to provide employment to the child once he was discharged from the hospital. He also offered artificial limb implantation for the injured child.

On the other hand, councillor Manvinder Singh Makkar has denied the allegations of fabricating any evidence against the actor.

He said that the accident took place hardly at 10 feet away from his office. Makkar said a number of area residents are eyewitness to the accident.
