Acting on a tip-off, a team of Anti Extortion Cell of Pune police crime branch led by assistant inspector Chandrakant Thakur busted a racket including some real estate agents involved in selling Haeem’s land by preparing bogus power of attorney (PoA) documents.
The crime branch has so far arrested four persons including two real estate agents Sagar Avinash Kodre (26) and Kishor Vishnu Dhayarkar (23), both from Mundhwa, a lady identified as Brajbala Chaturvedi (55) of Defence Colony in Wanavdi and Govind Bhanudas Ghadge (38) of Ghorpadi gaon. Search has been launched for an accomplice Amol Rajput of Ghorpadi.
According to the police, the fraudsters Dhayarkar, Kodre and Ghadge allegedly gave money to Chaturvedi to be present in the guise of Haeem at the sub-registrar’s office in Hadapsar on October 23, 2007. The police said that Chaturvedi made fake signatures of Haeem at sub-registrar’s office to obtain the bogus PoA. Dhayarkar and Kodre then sold Haeem’s land to a third person for Rs 16 lakh. The suspect Rajput was present as a witness for this deal. Assistant inspector Thakur is investigating further.
