I stay all by myself in the city and don’t cook too much. I eat out most of the time but my most memorable meal in the city happened last week at Masala Manter in Andheri. It wasn’t a special occasion but our group of close friends met up to catch up on old times. Masala Manter has the most authentic Punjabi cusine which is a treat to your taste buds. The restaurant has a rustic feel to it which takes you away from the fast paced Mumbai life, at least for a short while. It is like a typical dhaba, the kind you would find on any of our national highways. I savoured the butter rotis with butter chicken, chicken tikka, dal and butter garlic prawns which was prepared in a typical North Indian style. I had white wine to complement the spread. Though I don’t have a sweet tooth, I had a small bite of gulab jamun from one of my friends. I was happy with the dinner and it was definitely time well spent.
