I had one of the most memorable meals last week when I went to Vaishno Devi in Jammu. We had climbed up all the way from Katra and were very tired. And definitely very hungry. We could smell the dhaba food from a mile away. I ate Kashmiri pulao and rajma-chawal. I also asked for chole-bhature there. All the dishes were so fattening, but they were very delicious and I could not resist them. My aunt and cousins were with me. But I think I hogged the most. Normally, I am very conscious of my diet but that one evening, I just let myself go. It is important to enjoy all kinds of food once in a while. I think it was the spiritual influence. It was so cold there and the meal was steaming hot. However, the prasad there was the tastiest. I also relished kulfi in that cold weather.
