"Such protests by lawyers which involves striking of work is unethical. Their task is to help in providing justice. Striking work is not just," he said, speaking to The Indian Express.

He was addressing city labour and industrial court lawyers and judges on Wednesday. In his speech, he said that as the labour law was created to protect labourers and employees from exploitation the interpretation of the laws should be sympathetic to the common people.

He said that the judicial system of labour justice lacked the principle of equity as the disputes were imbalanced -- most employees cannot afford quality lawyers. He also said that the system was still against the people where the language of discourse (English) was alien to most common people, as was the dress code.
