After studying the policies of land allotment for institutions adopted by the development authorities in Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi, a proposal has been drafted and would be considered at the LDA board meeting on Thursday.
“At present, the LDA has no policy for allotment of institutional land,” said LDA vice-chairman Mukesh Kumar Meshram.
“The LDA has reserved over 50 acres in Sector-7 of Gomti Nagar fro institutional land. Only educational, medical, cultural and religious institutes will be allowed to come up there. The LDA requires a policy to allot land for such institutions,” said an LDA official.
Sources said that over six years ago, a committee was set up in the LDA to decide on matters relating to land allotment for setting up educational institutions. “But that committee became defunct after deciding on a few applications,” an official said.
Man held while registering fake property
An official of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) caught two persons who tried to fraudulently register a property on their names on Tuesday. The official has lodged a case of forgery against the duo. Mahendra Srivastava met Deputy Secretary of the LDA, Santosh Murdiya, and told him that he was the allottee of plot No. 267 in Sector-D on Kanpur Road. Srivastava was accompanied with his father-in-law Vinod Kumar, a businessman. Murdiya got suspicious when Srivastava failed to name the father of the allotee and his permanent address. This led Murdiya to raise an alarm and her staff nabbed the duo and handed them over to police. “Both have admitted involvement of a LDA clerk, Mahendra Dixit in this forgery. I will recommend Dixit’s name to Vice-Chairman for action,” said Murdiya.
