Leaders across party lines mourn Ranbir Hooda’s demise

Chandigarh Haryana Governor Dr A R Kidwai, Finance Minister Birender Singh, Power Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala, senior leader Shamsher Singh Surjewala and Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Dr Raghubir Singh Kadian, are among the prominent people, who have expressed deep sorrow on the demise of renowned freedom fighter and the last living member of the Constituent Assemble, Ranbir Singh Hooda, who died in Rohtak today.

In his condolence message, the Governor described Hooda as an able Parliamentarian and a legislator, a popular minister, a diligent social worker and a true democrat. He conveyed his condolences to Hooda’s son, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and other members of the bereaved family.

In their condolence messages, Finance Minister Birender Singh , Irrigation Minister, Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav, Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta, Power Minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharamvir Singh said Ranbir Singh was an embodiment of sacrifice, selfless service and struggle who had made a great contribution during the freedom struggle, having gone to jail many times during the struggle.

Speaker Dr Raghuvir Singh Kadian, said, “In his death, the country has lost a veteran national leader.”

HPCC Media Convener Pawan Jain said Ranbir Singh had devoted his life to the welfare of the country and its people. Bajrang Dass Garg, Chairman, Confed, also expressed shock at the death of the veteran freedom fighter.

INLD president Om Parkash Chautala too condoled the death of Ranbir Singh Hooda. Chautala said the state had lost a social worker and veteran politician with the death of Ranbir Singh Hooda. “Ranbir’s death is a personal loss to me,” he said.
