Ludhiana It has been more than a week since Jagdish Garcha removed the Ludhiana Improvement Trust board claiming possession of over 8.8 acres near the Sidhwan canal, no action has been taken against him

It seems the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) has bowed to the Akali pressure. More than a week after SAD minister Jagdish Singh Garcha threw the LIT board claiming possession over 8.8 acres near Sidhwan Canal, no action has been taken against him.

On the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the LIT authorities took the possession of land on February 11, but Garcha and his men uprooted the board the very next day. The staff, however, has not even dared to fix the board back.

Though the matter has been reported to the executive officer (EO) of LIT, who has further directed the letter to LIT officiating administrator and MC Commissioner.

Ghuman, while talking to Newsline, expressed ignorance over the matter. He said: “No one has intimated me about the violation. The EO is competent enough to take action against the violators. I wonder what he is waiting for. I will take up the matter with the EO and ask him the reason for delay.”

Sources added that apart from removing the board, illegal barbed wires have also been put up.

Garcha, meanwhile, had openly challenged the LIT officials and admitted that his men threw the board away.
