For someone who is all of 23, he sure packs in a lot. A graduate from Panjab University’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Puneet Sodhi is an MBA aspirant who plays the guitar, is a volunteer with a campus help group, is a regular in dance competitions and he hits the gym every day. Add to that, he’s also this year’s winner of the ‘Model of the year’ contest organized by the Chandigarh Institute of Performing Arts (CIPA).

The contest that was held on January 3 at the Sector 10 Government Polytechnic for Women also saw the brawny Sodhi bag the title for ‘Best Physique’. “I like to flaunt my six packs,” the youngster laughs to tell. What most don’t know is that he never really set out to be a model and it was only when everyone started noticing his physical attributes, did Sodhi decide to line up for the competition. “Winning the CIPA Model of the year title has given me a lot of confidence. It’s only now that I am looking at entering the modeling industry,” admits Puneet who was chosen out of 25 contestants from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. “I have always liked working out and maintaining a good body,” shares the youngster who is also a good dancer. “I was part of my college Bhangra team and I also participate in dance competitions as and when,” Puneet sys. But it’s not just all play. The graduate in food technology is now hard at work preparing for his MBA. “I feel it’s very important to be academically sound. Even if I do look at a career in modeling, I am still going to finish my MBA,” you hear him say.
