LPG agency checks equipment, residents irked

Ludhiana, March 6 Residents of Jawahar Nagar have alleged harassment at the hands of an LPG agency.

The residents alleged that the employees of the agency forced them to go in for a mandatory check-up, and charged Rs 40 for the purpose. Said Ram Lal, one of the residents, “Two employees from agency the LPG company came to our house and stamped the consumer’s notebook with the words, ‘mandatory check-up’. They also took Rs 40. When we objected to the payment, they threatened that the connection would be disconnected.”

Ram Lal added that other residents of the area had a similar experience. “The employees of the agency are also forcing people to but an LPG pipe of rupees 170. However the consumers have already gas pipes with them.”
