Durban, March 28: South Africa Test batsman Herschelle Gibbs spent Thursday night in jail after being arrested following a breath test.

Gibbs' lawyer Peter Whelan told Reuters on Friday that the player had been stopped by police while driving in Cape Town the previous night.

"He was pulled over and breathalysed," Whelan said. "The police have yet to tell me what charge he was arrested on."
