The police and proctorial board members will man the gates to ensure that that the ban is enforced. No one without an identity card will be allowed to enter the campus.
The university’s administrative officer PN Pathak said the senior superintendent of police has been requested to deploy adequate police force on the campus on Saturday.
The police teams will also deployed at the girl’s hostel to ensure that they are not harassed, Pathak said.
Highlighting that the university was not against the celebration of Valentine’s Day, Pathak said: “The restriction has been imposed to avoid any untoward incident. It has been seen in the past that students misbehave with girls or enter into scuffles.”
The girls can file their complaint with the proctorial office against misbehaviour on the campus, and the university will ensure that strict action is taken.A member of the proctorial board said security arrangements had been tightened to ensure that no one creates disturbance on the campus in the name of protest against Valentine’s Day. On Friday, too, police teams marched through the campus.
