With this, the number of arrested persons has reached four; three others, including a Makhu doctor, a Ludhiana middleman and a Delhi medical college student, were nabbed earlier.
Sources said Ludhiana doctor Swatantar Kumar would be presented before a Faridkot court on Monday. Sources said Swatantar had allegedly paid a hefty sum to middlemen for securing admission of his daughter into a medical college. He reportedly also lured some others into the racket. The scam involves a well-oiled all-India network of middlemen, imposters and prospective candidates.
