Maharashtrian man’s body found in Umra

Surat, February 5 A man from Maharastra was brutally killed and his body disposed off near a water tunnel in Bhimrad village in Umra on Monday.

The Umra police later sent to New Civil Hospital (NCH) for post-mortem.

Police got a number from the deceased’s wallet and contacted Vinod Parekh, a resident of Limbayat, who identified the body of his uncle Manohar More (40), a resdient of Buldhana district in Maharashtra.

Manohar ran a nursery back home and had come to Navsari four days ago for some work. Two days ago, he came to Surat to meet his relatives in Limbayat. Police have detained a youth identified as Vijay from Limbayat area and he is now being interrogated.

Inspector R S Patel said, “We are not sure about the reason of the murder but we learnt that he had an illicit relationship with a woman of Limbayat. We have also speakon to Manohar’s relatives.”
