Pune, February 6 A 15-Year-old house maid Vimal Nagtilak of Yamuna Nagar slums in Viman Nagar committed suicide by setting herself on fire when her employer held her responsible for stealing Rs 200 cash. The Airport police have arrested the employer Anuradha Rajesh Iyer (57) of Neutron Landmark Society in Viman Nagar.

They said Vimal’s mother Ulka (35) was working as a maid at Iyer’s residence for a few months. And then on January 28, Ulka fell ill and asked Vimal cover for her. Besides blaming Vimal for stealing the Rs 200 from her wallet, she also threatened to lodge a complaint against the girl.

The police said Vimal had 80 per cent burns and died a few days after being admitted at a hospital.
