Mumbai Major Upadhyay moved application saying he wants to maintain his systematic lifestyle

Two days after one of the prime accused in Malegaon blast, Retd Major Ramesh Upadhyay, moved an application for contesting the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, his lawyer made another application requesting that ironed clothes be made available to him on the jail premises. Upadhyay’s lawyer, Naveen Chomal, in his application stated that “Upadhyay has spent over 22 years in Army and that at least he deserves a life of dignity on the jail premise.”

In the application, Upadhyay said that he wishes to maintain his systematic lifestyle even within the prison. He said that though there is a facility of ironing clothes, the prison authorities do not allow him to use it.

Upadhyay, who was arrested on October 28, 2008, for his alleged role of conspiring the September 29 Malegaon blast, is presently is judicial custody.

According to chargesheet filed by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in the case, Upadhyaya (64) was a key member of the right wing organization Abhinav Bharat and allegedly trained its cadres to assemble bombs.

Dignity Cloths by Neduncheziyan on 28 Jul 2009

How wonder the criminal, the army officer (shame on Army) maintaining his iron cloths dignity??? if he honored to his uniform, why he is doing criminal acts??? Criminals have no respect, no iron cloths, and no dignity???? 22 years of his service in army, stolen bomb materials from army stockpiles, teaching to make bombs, to kill innocent citizens?? How he is a dignity maintained army officer?
