Ahmedabad Mukul Sinha’s party to support her candidature from Gandhinagar

The New Socialist Movement (NSM) party in its meeting, held on Sunday, decided to support the candidature of Mallika Sarabhai who has declared her intention to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha election from Gandhinagar constituency as an independent candidate, said NSM chairman Mukul Sinha in a press release issued on Sunday.

NSM is the first group which has come in public support of Sarabhai’s candidature for the Gandhinagar constituency from where

BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani is likely to contest.

Expressing the party’s support to Sarabhai, Sinha stated that she would effectively articulate the grievances of the people at large who are suffering under the onslaught of the communal politics as well as anti-people development policies of the government.

“Sarabhai being a woman candidate would be able to effectively raise the voice against atrocities being conducted on women in the state as had happened in Patan gangrape case. She will also demand justice in the case of the death of two children living in the ashram of Asaram Bapu,” the release added.

Sinha added that all the members of NSM and its affiliated organisations like Jan Sangharsh Manch and Gujarat Federation of Trade Unions would actively campaign for the candidature of Sarabhai.
