Kolkata Trinamool Congress chief and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again made Trinamool Bhawan her home. For the past few days, she has been away from her Kalighat residence, staying at her party headquarters off EM Bypass. Though party leaders maintain that the move is an attempt to keep the Kalighat house free from daily visitors, party sources said family discord could be a reason for her seeking refuge away from home.

Banerjee reportedly left Kalighat on Sunday after an altercation with her brother. Since then she has been staying in a small apartment on the second floor of Trinamool Bhawan. “She (Banerjee) has been here for the past two days. We learn she had an altercation with her family members, following which she came here,” said a senior leader. Earlier too, owing to reported family issues, Banerjee had left her Kalighat home and stayed at the party headquarters with her mother, Gayatri Banerjee. Prior to the civic polls also, she took to Trinamool Bhawan as her Kalighat residence reportedly did not have enough space to accommodate visitors.
