In his complaint, one Raj Kumar, a resident of Noor Mahal, had alleged that Shiv Charan had fraudulently sold his land measuring 75 square yards. The complainant said Shiv made another man impersonate as Raj Kumar to sell his house.
Inquiries conducted by senior police officers and a report from the Forensic Laboratory, Chandigarh, too had established the fraud.
Though Shiv Charan could not be arrested all this while, he finally surrendered in a local court today. The court has sent him in the police remand till March 2.The investigating officer (IO) of the case, Assistant Sub- Inspector Paramjit Singh said Shiv Charan would thoroughly interrogated during his police remand.
Photojournalist threatened When Newsline photographer Ravi Kanojia was clicking the photographs of Shiv Charan in the courts complex, his (Shiv Charan) supporters threatened him of dire consequences.
The incident happened in the presence of a police party accompanying the accused.
