NOIDA In a late night clash at a restaurant-cum-bar in Noida, a couple of bouncers allegedly beat up a group of party-goers and grievously injured a 26-year-old property dealer of Noida, who was part of the group.

The incident happened around 12.30 am at the Gravity Jaipuria restaurant-cum-bar in Sector 26 after a group had a tiff with the bouncers working at the bar.

Police said one Vipin Kumar had invited a few friends for dinner in a pre-wedding bash thrown for his brother. At midnight, the bouncers asked the group to leave as they were closing the bar. “The group told the staff to wait as they were yet to finish their drinks. An argument ensued,” said Pramesh Kumar Shukla, Station House Officer (SHO), Sector 20 police station.

“The group told the staff members that they were yet to have dinner. They later ordered food and were in the restaurant till late,” added the police officer.

When the group came out of the restro-bar later, they got into an altercation with the bouncers and were reportedly beaten up.

Pradeep Kumar, one of members of the group, was hit hard on the head and had to be admitted in Kailash Hospital in Noida. “Kumar is in the ICU and is under observation. He has developed clots in the brain as a result of the injury. His condition is still critical,” said a friend of Kumar.

A case has been registered in Sector 20 police station. The bouncers are yet to be arrested by the police. When contacted, restro-bar manager Manoj Bisht refused to comment on the issue. In an incident last October, two bouncers of a restro-bar in Noida Sector-18 had beaten up a businessman from Ghaziabad.
