Man killed by brother following tiff over money

Rajkot A man was allegedly killed by his bother following a fight over money in Rajkot on Thursday. According to the police, the deceased was also an accused in a couple of petty crimes.Rajkot police said Ramesh Dharajia, 37, a resident of Punitnagar Society on 150-Foot Ring Road, was brought to the Rajkot Civil Hospital with severe injuries in his stomach. He, however, died soon after he was admitted into the hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that Ramesh was stabbed.Ashok, the younger brother of Ramesh, initially told the police that an unidentified person had stabbed his brother when he was standing at the main door of his house in Punitnagar. Ashok said the unidentified attacker had already escaped before he reached the spot. Police said, Ashok, however, broke down during interrogation and admitted to the crime. While the postmortem report is awaited, preliminary investigations have revealed that Ramesh, who used to repair handpumps for an earning, had turned into an alcoholic. On Wednesday night, both the brothers had liquor together and later had a fight over money.

Ashok admitted that in a fit of anger he stabbed his brother.
