Vadodara, January 4 In a gruesome incident on Thursday night, one Vinod Baria beat his 33-year-old wife to death with an iron pipe in Lidhora village in Waghodia on suspicions that she was having an affair with another man.

After committing the crime, Baria fled from the village and has since then gone into hiding. However, Baria's sister, Urmila, who witnessed the incident, filed a complaint with the Waghoida police on Friday morning.

According to Waghodia Police, Baria, who is a farmer by profession, had a quarrel with his wife before bludgeoning her. Urmila apparently told the police that on Thursday night, the couple had a massive argument during which Baria li

fted a large iron pipe and repeatedly smashed his wife's head with it, before fleeing from the scene of the crime. Urmila immediately called for help and managed to take her sister-in-law to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The woman had suffered severe head injuries.

The Waghodia Police said they were on Baria’s trail now and were trying to trace out his relatives in and around the village, where he could be possibly hiding. The police have also initiated combing operations in villages surrounding Lidhora to try and nab Baria.
