The Bharuch Taluka police said the incident occurred on Friday after Nanjilal Vasava from Wasi village had an argument with his wife, Ramila (45). Police nabbed the accused on Saturday from near his house when he was trying to flee the village. During interrogation, Nanjilal confessed to his crime.
According to the police, Vasava murdered his wife by hitting on her head with an iron rod. She died on the spot. Police is yet to talk to her brother-in-law. The complaint was filed by a neighbour, Mila Basava, who heard Pramila's cries and later saw her body in the house, police said.
