Man murdered in Tilak Nagar

A 21-year-old youth from Panchasheel Nagar, Tilak Nagar, was stabbed to death on Wednesday evening. The Tilak Nagar police have arrested the accused and booked him for murder.

The victim, Shamik Jainuddin Sheikh, reportedly got into a fight with Prakash Harijan (23) over drugs a few days back.

“According to the complaint filed by Khatija Sheikh, Sheikh’s mother, Harijan had come to their house at around 6.30 pm on Wednesday and called Sheikh out. Both of them walked away from the house. Hairjan led Sheikh to a dingy area near a public toilet where he stabbed him,” said a police official. The police nabbed Harijan on Thursday morning The official added that both the complainant and the accused have a criminal record, with two-three cases registered against them.
