Man shot at in robbery bid

Faridabad A 25-year-old man was injured after assailants in a car shot at him in an unsuccessful rob bid on Saturday afternoon. The police said the incident took place in Sector 15, Faridabad, when Devendra Kumar was on his bike with Rs 50,000 cash.

An employee of Mittal Stone Crushers in Faridabad, Kumar was returning after collecting payment from one Kishan Arya.

“The victim was returning when three or four assailants in a car overtook him and tried to snatch his bag,” a senior police officer said. “They fired from an airgun when he resisted. The splinters from the bullet hit his neck, ears and shoulder, causing minor injuries.”

On hearing the gunshot, a constable nearby rushed the victim to Escorts Hospital with Arya, who had also reached the spot.

Devendra was discharged after first-aid. A case has been registered and the police are looking for the accused.
