Mann, others acquitted in sedition case

Ropar A local court acquitted Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann and four others on Friday, in a sedition case registered against them at Anandpur Sahib. Mann, along with Bhag Singh Surtapur, Bachan Singh Bains, Sarabjit Singh and Amandeep Singh Abiana, was facing trial in the court of Ropar Additional Sessions Judge M S Randhawa under Sections 124-A,153-A,148,149 of IPC at Anandpur Sahib for making inflammatory speeches there on June 8, 2005 on the occasion the anniversary of Operation Bluestar.
