Suspected Maoists raided the forest beat office at Gapiballavpur block in West Midnapore district last night and looted cash from the employees. According to police, a group of 20-25 armed Maoists entered Kamlashole forest beat office, which is 10 km from the Orissa border. They ransacked the beat office and allegedly looted Rs 36,000 from four employees. The Maoists allegedly assaulted the forest guard. They also looted traditional weapons used by the tribals which were seized by the forest guards, police said.
