Lucknow To review the law and order situation and the progress made in development projects, Chief Minister Mayaw-ati held a marathon meeting with her officials on Friday, which lasted for five hours.

She assigned the responsibility for reviewing the law and order situation and development works at ground level in all 18 divisions of the state to the four principal secretaries and the secretary to chief minister.

Mayawati has directed them to visit their respective divisions every weekend and conduct a thorough verification of all development works. The officers have been asked to start inspection from Saturday and to obtain feedback from public representatives and locals before presenting their reports to her.

The chief minister made it clear that she herself would visit the district from which reports poor performance and stern action will be taken against officers found guilty.

The meeting was called after thursday’s meetings between the chief minister and her party legislators, from whom she received detailed information.

She also sought information from each MLA regarding the general image of their respective district magistrates and superintendents of police and asked them if the officers were discharging their duties with commitment and honesty.

Mayawati also inquired about the performance of the deputy inspector general, commissioner, IG Zone and other senior officers. In her meeting with the bureaucrats on Friday, she asked the senior officials to give her the full reports regarding actions taken on the applications given by the MLAs.
