The direction was issued on Friday by Chief Secretary Atul Gupta during the review of the progress of development schemes and law and order in three divisions — Saharanpur, Meerut and Moradabad.

Adequate funds have been made available to all districts for the development works and rural and urban people should get the benefit of those schemes, he said. The direction came with a warning: no excuse will be accepted and non-performers will be held accountable for lapses.

Gupta said the cash assistance and bicycles under the Savitri Bai Phule Balika Madad Yojna should be

delivered to the identified beneficiaries positively by February 18.

He also directed for the early completion of the housing units for the urban poor and issuance of lease papers to slum dwellers under the Kanshiram Urban Poor housing scheme and Sarvjan Hitay Garib Avas Malikana Yojna.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the schemes for the urban poor, he said the work should be expedited. The houses should be allotted complete with amenities like power, water supply and drainage. Gupta directed district officers to complete the development schemes in all Ambedkar villages by March 31. Link roads, electrification, sanitation facilities and drains should be completed on war footing, he said.

Drawing attention of the district magistrates and divisional commissioners to the coming school board examinations, he asked them to replace faulty transformers at the earliest and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
