Gurgaon Two persons were killed and three injured in separate road accidents in less than 24 hours. In the first, Vivek, a Ghaziabad resident and an MBA student, was on his way home with two friends Naman and Kartik, both residents of Noida, late on Wednesday night when a vehicle hit their car from behind. The three youths were rushed to a nearby hospital where Vivek succumbed to injuries. The Sector 40 police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving.

In the second incident, a speeding Innova hit two sisters while they were trying to cross the NH-8 near 32 Milestone around 1.30 pm on Thursday. According to the Sector 40 police, Pamela (35) and Leimi (24), from Manipur had come to attend a training at the Metropolitan Mall. They were crossing the road in front of Galaxy Hotel when a speeding SUV hit them, killing Pamela on the spot and injuring her sister. Leimi was rushed to Paras Hospital with injuries but was discharged later.

The police have arrested the owner of the car who was on his way to Jaipur with his family. They said the accident could have been averted had the women crossed over from under the flyover rather than trying to negotiate the busy main road.
