Chandigarh, March 3 The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is all set to develop infrastructure in Motor Market Manimajra at a cost of Rs 5.37 crore.

The MC House had approved the required amount last year and the MC has already placed the development plan on the official website of the corporation for suggestions from the public.

As per the plan, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has decided to improve and upgrade infrastructure and regulate the vehicular traffic for easy and quick accessibility for repair works in the Motor Market. The Rs 5.37 crore budget was already approved in the budget estimate for year 2007-08.

The MC has decided to start works like construction of flexible pavements, rigid pavements, development of green spaces, installation of streetlights and upgradation of sewerage and storm water drainage system.

According to senior MC officials, around Rs 3 crore will be spent on the re-carpeting and widening of roads in the Motor Market. Besides, three more parkings will be developed to ensure the proper parking of vehicles.
