Medicos to hold contest to remember Sahir

Ludhiana To commemorate the birth anniversary of the famous poet Sahir Ludhianavi, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H) under the aegis of “Dhvani” is organising an inter-college singing competition for the students of medical, dental and nursing colleges on the campus on March 9.

Students from CMCH, DMCH, Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College and Guru Teg Bahadur Nursing College will participate in the programme to be held at the college’s Dumra auditorium.

In the evening, the troupe led by Randhir Kanwal would present a song and ghazal programme. The faculty members of DMCH will also participate in the event.

Dr Daljit Singh, principal, DMCH, said that in its endeavour to keep the spirit of Sahir alive among the youth, DMCH and “Dhvani” were organising this competition.

Dr Sandeep Puri, Medical Superintendent, DMCH, informed that the most remarkable contribution made by Sahir was through his lyrics. Dr Sunil Juneja (convenor) and Dr Harish Matta will be the coordinators of the event.
