Seminar on ethics in politics

Subhash Nagpal, a member of Group 5, has organised a topical seminar on the theme of Role of Ethics in Politics and Governance. Nagpal believes the subject chosen is crucial to our very existence as a respected nation. The seminar will be held on April 30 starting 6 pm at Maulana Abdul Kalam Auditorium in Koregaon Park. The chief guest at the seminar will be C D Deshmukh. Other luminaries and speakers who will participate in the event are V S Krishnamurthy, CEO, Zensar and Acharya Vageeshji of Arya Samaj. BG Deshmukh, ex-Cabinet Secretary, will preside over the seminar. TS Krishnamurthy, former chief election commissioner of India will also participate. Besides Dr Vageesh, who will speak on practicality of ethics, Raman Nanda, media consultant from Delhi, Dr S B Mujumdar, Symbiosis, Virendra Kapoor, director, Symbiosis Telecom Management Institute, will also speak.

Free Esperanto classes

Dr Abdul Salam, president of the National Esperanto Federation of India, plans to hold Esperanto classes in the city from May 25. The charges for the classes, to be held in Camp and elsewhere for ten days, will be Rs 50 returnable on the first day. The morning schedule will be 7-9 am or 9.15-11.15 am and the evening slot will be 4-6 pm or 6.15-8.15 pm. On completion of the course, participants will be gifted a free translation book, dictionary, and CD along with a certificate. Seminar by Naralkar Institute

Principal NG Naralkar Institute of Career Development and Research Development conducted a full day seminar on Managing for Excellence on April 19 which was attended by about 275 students at the Yashada campus. Dr CM Chitale, dean, Pune University, inaugurated the event and Dr. G.K. Shirude, director, NICDR welcomed the audience. Dr Chitale enchanted the audience by his talk on the subject.

The event was also graced by the presence of dignitaries like RK Saily, senior VP, Reliance India Limited, Dr SV Bhave VP, HR, Bharat Forge, Dr Abhay Kulkarni, director, ATSS, IICMR, who spoke about various subjects like managerial effectiveness, passion for people - Who's responsibility and Business Process Excellence through Six Sigma. The evening ended by the vote of thanks by Ambika Meherwade, a student of Principal NG Naralkar Institute of Career Development and Research development.

Upanyasam by Krishnan Swamy

U V Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy, son of the illustrious Vakamruthavarshi U V Velukkudi Varadhachariar Swamy, and a pundit of Vedanta related literatures both in Tamil and Sanskrit will be giving religious discourses in the city. He is well known to the asthikas all over India for his religious discourses on Upanyasam blended with versatile presentation. He has been delivering televised talks on the Bhagavat Gita. Sri Krishnan Swamy will be delivering religious talks on Ramanujanum and Daya Satakam on April 28 and 29 between 7 and 9 pm at Sri Ahobila Mutt's Sri Balaji Mandir on Pashan-Sus Road. Speak and be heard

A public speaking course will be conducted for children of 14 years and above from April 28 to May 11 between 11 am and 1 pm at Sanewadi, Aundh. The topics to be covered would be techniques of speaking, conversation, interview and presentation skills, diction, group discussion as well as confidence building. Religious offerings to Seetha Rama

Shree Hari Hara Bhajana Samajam ( Ganapati Temple ), Rasta Peth, has arranged Shree Maha Sudharshana Yagnam from May 9 to May 11 at the Samajam premises .The religious programmes would consist of various types of poojas , homama, archanasa, abhishekams and deearadhan to Lord Ganesha and other deities in the temple. Chakrapani Iyengar and Partu from Bangalore will conduct and perform all religious rituals.

The Samajam will celebrate Sri Seetha Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam on May 17 and 18 with Ashtapathi bhajan, divyanaman, dolotsavam, unchaviruthi and other religious programmes. KS Rajgopal Bhagavatar and party from Kadayanallur, Tamil Nadu, will conduct and perform the Sri Seetha Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam and will be assisted by temple priests Viswanatha Sastrigal, GA Sitaramachar and Madurai Manikantan Sastri.
