Mentally challenged girl raped in Ghodadar village; two arrested

Junagadh In a heinous act of crime, a mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped in an agricultural field on the outskirts of Ghodadar village under Shil police station in Mangrol taluka of Junagadh district.

The incident occurred on Friday; and following a complaint lodged by the victim's mother, the two accused were arrested by Shil police.

The complainant said that she saw her mentally challenged daughter in a devastated condition and two persons fleeing from the scene, when she reached the field.

According to her, while returning to her village from the nearby Aantroli village in a rickshaw, she noticed two persons in her field. She immediately got down and approached them. She saw the two forcing themselves on her daughter and they fled from the spot on seeing her.

The woman later lodged a complaint with the police. Following this, the police arrested the two accused on Saturday.

The two are Bhoja Koli and Parbat Koli, both residents of Mander village.

According to the police, Bhoja has been arrested on the charge of raping the girl, while Parbat has been charged of abetting the crime.

The two have been booked under Sections 376 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code. The accused were produced before the judicial magistrate first class court on Saturday evening.
